"The good-enough mother...starts off with an almost complete adaptation to her infant's needs, and as time proceeds she adapts less and less completely, gradually, according to the infant's growing ability to deal with her failure" (Winnicott, 1953)

Salad Haiku
Cool, crisp leafy greens- now I, with kids, miss you. You take too long to eat.
Oh I KNOW! I used to eat salad probably every day, and now slapping together a sandwich is about all I can manage at lunchtime. And salad is a hard thing to prepare in advance and then use throughout the week. Salad is kind of an only good if fresh type of meal. I love eating out for the salads alone...
My husband and I fight over salad more than any other topic. He eats one a day. The unfairness of this could kill me, especially because I am the one watching my waistline (you know, from having our kids, which are the reason why I can't eat salad...)!
HAHAHAHA!
